National Hair Institute Best Hair Transplant

There is no such thing as the best hair transplant for all. Hair loss isn't the same for everyone and what works for one person doesn’t necessarily work for another. The National Hair Institute recognises that not everyone has the same hair loss, which is why we have two treatment options to find the best hair transplant for you.

Here at the National hair Institute, we specialise in both men and women’s hair loss and offer Follicular Unit Grafting (FUG) and  Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE)  for ultimate results. Our goal is to provide patients with the most natural results achieved in the shortest possible time.

Our qualified staff will assess which hair transplant procedure is best for the results you wish to achieve. Using the finest methods and advanced technology, we will ensure you get the best hair transplant to eliminate hair loss.

To learn how the National Hair Institute can deliver the best hair transplant for your hair loss, call 03 9699 7733 today or visit our offices for a free consultation.

Follicular Unit Grafting (FUG)

Follicular Unit Grafting (also referred to as FUG) abides by the principle that hair doesn’t grow individually, but grows naturally in clusters of up to 4 hairs. These clusters are also known as follicular units and are obtained through microscopic dissection of tissue that is harvested in a single strip.

For some, this is the best hair transplant as it is possible to identify and extract the hair units and transfer them to the balding scalp. Thousands of follicular unit grafts containing 1, 2, 3 or 4 hair grafts are taken and are transferred in groups.

The National Hair Institute surgical team can control angle, depth and density of hair incision, ensuring a natural result. FUG at the National Hair Institute involves removing a thin strip of hair at the back and sides of the scalp. The groupings of hair are placed in the incisions with a fine pair of tweezers.

Our surgical technicians will place 1 hair grafts in the front hairline and 2 hair grafts directly behind. The 3 and 4 hair grafts are then placed throughout the mid scalp and forelock region for maximum density.

Your hair directly above the incision will cover the area, ensuring FUG is not notable. As mentioned previously, not everyone loses hair in the same area, which is why it is important to consider the best hair transplant for you.

Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE)

Follicular Unit Extraction (also referred to as FUE) is the technique of extracting individual grafts from the scalp. This relatively new technique has been regarded as the best hair transplant for a number of patients.

In the FUE procedure, the surgeon will make a tiny circular incision around each follicular unit. The follicular units are then individually extracted from the scalp. The hairs are given to the surgical team who will check them under the microscope and further trim them if required.

The small holes are left to heal on their own, whilst the National Hair Institute surgical team carefully place each of the hairs in the required area.

Although recommended as the best hair transplant for a number of patients, the procedure negates the need for a linear incision at the back and sides of the scalp, resulting in an inevitable scar. Both hair transplant options result in a natural looking hairline, allowing you to achieve wanted results.

This detailed procedure takes time but allows patients to return to normal activities within a couple of days with limitations to exercise, smoking and drinking. With both FUG and FUE, the hair will begin to grow about three months after the procedure. Hair will gradually grow through, ensuring you receive final results about 18 months after surgery.

Hair Growth Patterns

Contrary to common belief, hairs do not grow as single units. Our hair grows in naturally occurring groups of up to four hairs, which are referred to as follicular units. Here at the National Hair Institute, we aim to replace lost hair using natural hair growth patterns to ensure you get a natural looking hairline.

The best hair transplant for you will depend on the type of hair loss you suffer, what you wish to achieve and hair type. The National Hair Institute uses follicular grafts and does not use micro grafts for hair regrowth. Micro grafts are dissected without magnification aid and do not necessarily use four hairs from the same follicular unit. The growth rate from follicular unit grafting and subsequent appearance is far more natural in comparison with micro grafts.

The binocular stereoscopic dissecting microscope allows our practitioners to identify and dissect each follicular unit to the smallest possible graft, resulting in a high growth rate. Our hair growth is in excess of 95% in the hands of our experienced surgical team.

Here at the National Hair Institute, we replace hair in areas where it has been lost in the same way that it used to grow, resulting in achievable natural hair growth. For the best hair transplant using natural follicular grafts, visit the National Hair Institute today!
